By launching Center Strategies LLC in 2002, Kevin Ivers moved beyond his decade-long base in Washington to a more global vision for tackling some of the more challenging economic and social issues facing the public and private sectors.  Before starting the company, he had appeared in nearly every major U.S. newspaper and on every major TV news network across the nation over the last decade of his career in public affairs. With dual U.S. and European nationality, Latin American residency and proficiency in foreign languages, he now assists clients around the world from New York to São Paulo, from London to Hong Kong.

As Director of Public Affairs for Log Cabin Republicans, Ivers worked on behalf of local, statewide, congressional and presidential campaigns from 1992 to 2002, assisting with message development, crisis communications, surrogate speechmaking, voter targeting, independent expenditure campaigns, issue advertising, and poll analysis.  He also played a key role in raising several million dollars for political candidates and causes, while spearheading candidate training seminars and university campaign workshops starting in 1999.

From 1994 to 2003, Ivers worked on the development of federal and global HIV/AIDS policy, both in the U.S. Congress and in the Bush Administration.  He participated in drafting the legislation to create President Bush’s multibillion dollar President’s Emergency Plan for HIV/AIDS (PEPFAR), starting with the insertion of a GOP platform plank in 2000 to advising the House International Affairs Committee in the drafting of Chairman Henry Hyde’s (R-IL) House bill in 2002.  Ivers also worked closely with Members of Congress and state governors in the reauthorizations of the Ryan White CARE Act in 1995 and 2000, with particular focus on expanding treatment access through the AIDS Drug Assistance Program.  Throughout the 1990s, he also worked in coalition with allied organizations to promote, as well as defeat, legislation and regulatory actions through a combination of grass-roots mobilization and top-line media pressure campaigns.

Expanding Center Strategies LLC from a Washington-focused operation in 2002 to an international consulting practice in 2004, Ivers promotes pro-development solutions for the range of challenges faced by the region’s emerging economies.  Having appeared in print and on TV news programs in Brazil as a U.S. political commentator, Ivers has also specialized in providing economic and political analysis to clients tracking specific issues of interest, particularly in the western hemisphere.  He has also supported local institutions throughout the region in efforts to promote foreign direct investment, and has given seminars to major local business organizations to promote more active private sector involvement in public policy.

Ivers co-founded the SPCircuit Global Consultancy Alliance (www.spcircuit.com) with colleagues in Washington and throughout the region, building a team infrastructure for corporate and non-profit clients seeking public affairs solutions in a global context.
Ivers is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
